Our Veterinarians

· Allan Harmening DVM
Dr Al is a 1987 graduate of the University of Minnesota. He joined the team at GVS in 1989. His home growing up was near New Ulm, MN. He is a current member of the NWVMA, WVMA, AVMA, and AABP. He is a director on the board of the Citizens State Bank, Loyal/Neillsville/Granton. Dr Al’s primary interests focus on consulting for overall dairy herd health and management. He is certified with the USDA for dairy and beef herd Johnes’ risk assessment, management, and control. Dr Al enjoys gardening, fishing, and golf, and spending time with family. He lives in Neillsville with his wife Dr. Jean, and two kids, Clayton and Jillian.

· Mike Strobush DVM

Dr. Mike is a 1983 graduate of the University of Minnesota, and has been with GVS since that time. He grew up in Hudson, WI. He is a current member of the NWVMA, WVMA, AVMA, and AABP. His special interests are dairy herd health, dairy nutrition, and white tail deer herds. He enjoys hunting, skiing, water sports, and fishing. His home is in Neillsville where he lives with his three daughters, his Border Collie, Bailey, and cat, Buster.

· Nathan Marti DVM

Dr. Marti is a 2001 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. He grew up in Sleepy Eye, MN where his family has registered Holsteins. He is a current member of AABP, National Mastitis Counsel, MVMA, and WVMA. His professional interests include heard health management and breeding programs. He lives in Granton with his wife Dr. Jessica Woodrow and dog Molly. His hobbies include snowmobiling, camping, and outdoor activities.

· Jean Liljegren DVM

Dr. Jean is a 1986 graduate of the University of Minnesota. She is originally from the twin cities area of MN. In 1989, she joined the GVS team and started building the companion animal practice. In March of 2003, she completed the Veterinary Acupuncture course, and passed the certification exam. She is currently a member of the IVAS, AAVA, AVMA, and WVMA. Professional interests include acupuncture and alternative medicine, nutrition, surgery and getting to know her clients. Her hobbies include gardening, martial arts, and needlework, and scrapbooking. Dr Jean lives in Neillsville with her husband, Dr. Al, daughter Jillian, son Clayton, Golden Retreivers - Hunny Belle and Noah, cats - Rachel and Petie, and a few assorted other small pets.

· Jessica Woodrow DVM
Dr. Woodrow is a 2005 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in the Twin Cities, MN. She is a current member of the MVMA, AAHA, and AVMA. Her professional interests include dermatology, nutrition, and internal medicine. She lives in Granton with her husband Dr. Nathan Marti and dog Molly. Her hobbies include dancing, history, and camping.

· Jeannette Bymers
  Office manager

Jeannette has been a member of the GVS team since 1983. She is a graduate of MATC with an associate degree in Science, majoring in veterinary technology. She and her husband Mike have two children, Payton and Jayden. They enjoy camping, fishing, golfing and hunting together. They also have a labrador named Raven who enjoys hunting.

· Wendy Lindner

  Certified Veterinary Technician
Wendy is our head technician. She joined the GVS team in 1995. Growing up on a dairy farm in Loyal, WI, veterinary work seemed the right choice for her. She went to Madison to receive her Veterinary Technologist degree, and passed her certification exam that same year. Her interests include training her dog and gardening. She lives with her husband Chris, daughters Kaitlyn & Anna, and labrador Maggie, in Loyal.

· Tina Ashton

  Veterinary assistant
Tina was born in Alhambra, CA. She moved to Neillsville in September of 2003 with her husband Paul, son Chris and Daughter Tianna. They have 3 horses, 3 dogs, 6 cats, and 1 rabbit! She enjoys spending time with her family and animals, and loves to cook and bake for everyone.

· Cindy Ure

  Receptionist
Cindy hails from the Granton area and has lived in central WI all her life. She joined the GVS team in July 2005. Her bright smile and quiet manner will greet you as walk in the front door. Cindy lives in Granton with her 2 children, Joel and Natasha. They have a beagle named Bandit, and two cats, Skittles and Damion.

· Emily Laws

  Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist.
Emily was born and raised in Ellsworth, IA. She moved to WI with her husband, Ben, dogs Lucius and Koda, and cat Oliver, in 2004. They currently live in Wisconsin Rapids. Her favorite things to do are spending time with family, running, and knitting.

· Tracey Boeson

  Veterinary Technicain
Tracey comes to us from Hinckley, MN. She is a graduate of Argosy University where she received her associate degree in veterinary technology in 2006. Her hobbies include raising rabbits and cross stitching. She lives in Neillsville with her dog Misty. They love to take walks together.

· Janet Kapusta

  Certified Veterinary Technician
Janet hails from Marshfield, WI. She graduated from University of Minnesota Waseca in 1987 with her associate degree in Veterinary Technology. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, cross stitching and spending time with her 4 kids. She and her husband Scott reside in Neillsville with children Justin, Cordell, JanaLee, and Isabella. They have a kitty named Tigger, who gets lots of love and attention.
